Another week has gone by and I’ve knocked out another pile of comics, most of which came from my local library system. As you can see, we’ve got a mix of amazing indie artists, classic comic visionaries, crossovers and newer books. Hit the jump to see what I had to say on this batch! Here’s another great Children’s Palace ad, this one focusing on Nintendo games. What heady times those were!
As you can probably tell between last week’s TCT and this one, I went down a bit of a rabbit hole on YouTube looking at various Children’s Palace ads. This was my local toy store as a kid. There used to be a Children’s Palace near my house growing up. I don’t remember a roller skating panda being a part of the proceedings, but then again, I wasn’t born until four years after this bonkers spot aired.
I’ve been a fan of Scott Adkins’ action flicks since I first saw Assassination Games back in 2012. The next year I was blown away by Universal Soldier: Day Of Reckoning, which is still one of the best action films I’ve ever seen. With that in mind, I’m pretty much watching every one of his movies that pop up on Netflix or Amazon Prime. As it happens, the Flix has a nice pair in Close Range and Hard Target 2!
