I’m a dude. And, as such, tampon and pad commercials have been making me uncomfortable for years. Well, not as much anymore now that I’m older and married. Anyway, I’ve got to give it up to Kotex for coming out with this tampon ad that really makes me laugh. This is like the Blazing Saddles of tampon commercials. Well done!

For the record, Kotex also make really good bandages if you cut yourself. A cousin of mine once cut his foot on a bottle cap in the lake once and then had to drive home (he was in his late 20s at the time and had driven a few hours just for the day). It wasn’t a bad cut, but it bled pretty bad. In want of serious medical equipment, my mom, who is also a nurse, used a Kotex pad and some medical tape to wrap it up. Ingenuity!
