Arrow Season Opener Teased In Images, Trailer

The CW has big plans for the upcoming season Arrow. Not only have the show’s writers upped the ante when it comes to bringing in more characters from the DC Universe, but they’re also looking to expand into new shows thanks to a three episode arc featuring Barry Allen/The Flash that will work as a backdoor pilot. But, before all that, we’ve got to check out the first episode of the second season which premieres on October 9th at 8:00 PM EST.

Called “City Of Heroes,” the first episode features returning cast members like Stephen Amell, Karie Cassidy, David Ramsey, Emily Bett Rickards, Willa Holland, Colton Haynes, Paul Blackthorne and new addition Summer Glau as Isabel Rochev. Between the images above and the clips below, you can get a pretty good idea of where the characters are picking up after the first season finale.

Here’s the latest clip for the new season:

And here’s one featuring a few words from Amell about this new season:

Finally, if you haven’t watched the finale in a while, this video should help catch you back up:

Amell’s Abs, Bronze Tiger Featured In Arrow Promo Pics

The CW’s Arrow is an interesting animal. It not only captures the superhero audience, but also the one that appreciates muscle-y dudes like star Stephen Amell who appears shirtless in posters and ads for the show pretty regularly. TVLine scored this first look at the show’s number one bow lover who looks a lot worse for wear after the first season finale.arrow stephen amell michael jai whie

Meanwhile, TV Guide showed off the very first look at a character familiar to many comic fans, but not the world at large: Bronze Tiger. Portrayed by Michael Jai White (Spawn) in the show’s second season, Bronze Tiger will first appear in the second episode of the season to test himself against the Hood. “He’s basically the best of the best, so he has come to Starling City to see if the Hood can give him a challenge,” executive produce Marc Guggenheim said. “To that end, he has aligned himself with China White [Kelly Hu] and the Chinese Triad.” Looks to us like he’s taking a few cues from Wolverine, but we’re hopeful that White and Amell will give us the kinds of action scenes we’ve come to know and love from the show.

As the poster says, Arrow Season Two premieres on the CW October 9th and 8:00 PM.

Trailer Time: Man Of Tai Chi, Arrow Season 2 & Serangoon Road

Man Of Tai Chi not only marks Keanu Reeves’ return to the world of martial arts movies, but also his first outing as a director. In the film, he plays an evil puppetmaster type figure trying to see if he can corrupt a supposed man of peace played by Tiger Hu Chen.  The film hits VOD and iTunes on September 27th and select theaters on October 1st.

The second season of Arrow looks to get pretty epic with the Hood trying to fix the destruction seen at the end of the CW show’s first season while also dealing with all kinds of comic book based characters like Black Canary, Bronze Tiger and Amanda Waller. The new season premieres on October 9th.

According to Asian Movie Pulse, HBO’s working on a series called Serangoon Road set in 60s Singapore dealing with gangs, spies and other shady groups. They’re shooting the series in Singapore and Indonesia right now. Looks pretty intriguing.

Black Canary Throws Down In Arrow Season 2 Trailer

Arrow season one castI don’t know about you guys, but The CW’s Arrow ranks pretty high on my list of TV shows with the best action sequences. Steven Amell’s The Hood (known to comic fans as Green Arrow) not only kicks bad guy butt on a regular basis, but also shoots arrows and has been known to do a good deal of parkour getting from one place to another.

The second season of the series kicks off on October 9 and, according to reports from their Comic-Con panel, will feature Summer Glau (Firefly) and Caity Lotz (The Pact) as Black Canary. Both women get a bit of the spotlight in the new trailer for the show’s second season along with regular cast members Katie Cassidy, David Ramsey, Willa Holland, Emily Bett Rickards and the rest. Be warned, the video contains major spoilers for the first season if you haven’t watched it (which you should do immediately).

Thanks to The Mary Sue for the hat tip.
