Toy Story 3’s Twitch

I’m not a huge fan of Toy Story. I don’t have anything particularly against it, but it just never hooked me and I haven’t seen the second one all the way through yet. That being said, seeing the Toy Story 3 trailer–and the Tron Legacy one–in 3D before Alice In Wonderland was probably my favorite aspect of that viewing experience. It actually has a very horror movie feel to it, with Andy’s toys ending up in some kind of daycare center against their will, with the seemingly nice toys who were there before them turning evil and not wanting them to leave. I can get behind that. I can also get behind this dude named Twitch who seems modeled after my beloved He-Man and the Masters of the Universe character Buzz Off (thanks to He-Man.org for the rad picture below).

I can’t remember from the trailer what role Twitch might play in the movie, but I’m excited to find out.

  1. I was really disappointed in Alice and Wonderland 3D after seeing Avatar 3D. I went into it expected at least as good of a 3D experience but was REALLY disappointed. Especially the fast paced scenes and how blury they were. I came out of the movie with a bad headache and I really hope they don’t screw this up in the future releases this bad or I will be really upset.

Related specifically to Toy Story .. I just read this morning that if you own Toy Story 1 or 2 on DVD/VHS you can enter in the UPC on the Disney website and get $10 coupon off latest Blu-Ray copy.

    1. Yeah, I had the same problem with the AiW 3D, but I think that stems from it not actually being shot in 3D, but converted later on. They can do that kind of stuff to much better effect with all digital movies, but it just looks sloppy with live action (even heavily digitized live action like AiW).

Good looking out on the Toy Story UPC, I’ll have to tell the wife, maybe we’ll add them to our collection and I can watch all of the second one.
