Lost Thoughts: “The Last Recruit”

Whew, this episode was pretty whizbang, wasn’t it? So much was going on with all the characters (except Ben, Mile and Richard) meeting up, splitting off and choosing sides that it was hard to keep up and that was just the main storyline. The Dimension X stuff was great too because all the characters started coming together. Here’s my brief thoughts.

Finally, confirmation that Christian Shepherd on the island was really Smokey.

Claire has never been this interesting and yet I don’t trust her as far as I could throw Hurley. Speaking of which, I know we got a full Hurley episode last season, but he really seemed like window dressing this episode. Not a big deal, just a bummer.

I’d like to think that Juliette was inside the adoption agency place. Dimension X Desmond’s blowing me away. I love watching him walk around being the agent of…something. I can’t wait to find out what his deal is both on that side and the regular one. There’s no way Sayid killed him, right?

Speaking of which, if I was Non Locke trying to keep all these moving pieces working, I would have turned to smoke and gone to check to see if Sayid had really killed Desmond.

It was great seeing Sawyer, Kate, Hurley, Sun, Claire, Jack and Lapidus all on the sailboat together, but I had a sick feeling the whole time because there’s no way that’s working out. Seeing Jack jump ship made a lot of sense. He’s not going to be a follower anymore, he’s going to be proactive, like Locke.

I wonder why Widmore revoked his deal with Sawyer. Also, what the crap kind of rockets does Widmore have? Maybe it’s like on Buffy and that a modern weapon could take out Smokey like the rocket launcher kill The Master.

Holy crap, I was really worried that Jin and Sun’s reunion would be preempted by the fact that one of them would run into the sonic fence and get all dead.

The next episode commercial makes me think that we might be seeing Locke’s ghost like we saw Michael last week. That jives with what the producers said in the podcast when they said we hadn’t seen the last of Locke.

I’m sure I had a ton of other crazy thoughts throughout the episode, but can’t think of them now. I’m mostly curious as to how the people in Dimension X who are in love over there will come to know about the regular time line. I really can’t wait to see how this rolls out.
