Hey, I actually remember which episode this one was taken from! It’s called “It’s No Place Like Home For The Holidays” and it’s a Christmas episode in which everyone gets snowed in in various places. Darlene’s at David’s house, where they have a fight, yet still exchange Christmas presents (Darlene gives David some art supplies, David gives Darlene an original animation cell of unspecified origins). Anyway, the big comic reference in this one is, obviously, David’s Death Of Superman T-shirt. Being the comic book event that got me into reading comics on a regular basis, I’ve got a soft spot for The Death Of Superman and probably geeked out when I saw this back in 1992.
